BS Home Lets Ltd
This company is an established property management specialist. They required a new dynamic website design to build on their recognition and experience.
The client required a website that is both bright and lively with the criteria that there is a property search facility, listing the properties for rent, and displaying up to 10 images of each property. The search is run through a database that holds the property details and this is maintained by the client through a control panel.
The site also offers extensive information and guidance to landlords and tenants.
The new site Property Management Specialists for Landlords and Tenants is available at http://www.bshomelets.co.uk
Magna Law Ltd
Commissioned by Magna Law this site was produced in a short timescale to meet the strict deadline set by the client.
The brief was to get away from the traditional image of the legal profession of "quill pens and books" and to use graphics to show what the company is about and what it specializes in. There were 4 pages at launch, a home page, services page, contact page with an email form and a news page. The news page can be edited and uploaded to the server by the client themselves as and when required.
The header, navigation and layout were particularly liked by the client.
The site Food law, licensing, health and safety and environmental law from Magna Law is available at http://www.magnalaw.co.uk
Panthers Kickboxing
Panthers is a long established kickboxing club with 4 active venues for training in and around Bristol.
Panthers wanted a website to showcase the club itself, to communicate with their members and to reach a wider audience than they were using traditional methods. They had prepared most of the text content and had a good idea of how they wanted the site to look, as well as knowing what information they wanted to show and how they wanted it presented.
They had many photos that needed to be displayed and we use several methods of showing them. On the home page and kids page we used a 'hover box' that shows enlarged images when a user hovers on an photo. Pictures from each of the training sites were held on FlickR.com and these are integrated into the "Photos" pages. If they want to add photos to those pages, then a quick update to their FlickR album wil be reflected immediately into their own website. The club also produce a newsletter for members and that has also been integrated into the website with monthly updates.
The site is now live and can be visited at Kickboxing Bristol and is available at http://www.pantherskickboxing.com . The membership have responded very favoutably with the launch of their new site.
Disney Doorstep Villas
This is basically a redesign for a private owner of a rental villa.
The old site, though visually very similar to this, was not indexed by the search engines and so was getting a very poor response from the internet. We have adapted the old design, rebuilt it using CSS and carried out on page optimisation to attract more visitors to the site. There is still some work to do to improve the presence still further.
The site contains several "flash" animations and links to external sites for panoramic views of the property and to a separate calendar and booking system that the client is able to maintain themselves.
The new site Disney Villas Close to Disney is available at http://www.disneydoorstepvillas.com/
Our Florida Villa!
This site has been designed for a client who owns a rental villa in Florida.
It is still in the process of development as all the features are not yet complete, however, in view of the booking season approaching the site has been launched early to attract search engines and customers!
Our client had several ideas that have been incorporated into the design and the intention is that they will be able to update the site themselves. In particular the availability calendar page will need to be changed each time a booking is made and updated again when confirmed from a provisional booking.
There is a contact form within the site for any kind of enquiry and this includes an image verification (captcha) to deter spam and automated bots.
The site Orlando, Florida Villa Rental Home near Disney and Universal Studios is available at http://www.our-villa-in-florida.co.uk/
Terry Culpan Gallery
This site has been designed and developed for local watercolour artist, Terry Culpan.
The client, who enjoys an international reputation, wanted to have his own "presence" on the internet. The initial brief was to build a "brochure" style website that would show the artist and his work in a favourable light. Terry wanted to be able to offer viewers the chance to look at his work and to purchase originals and prints, as well as contact him.
The site evolved into 6 main pages that include a home, about, contact details and an online form, customer information and 2 gallery pages, 1 of originals and 1 of prints.
The galleries contain many thumbnail images of the artists work and each image contains a link to an enlarged view of that image. To protect copyright these enlarged views are protected by watermarking.
There are a series of "buy now" buttons and these allow the purchase online of the works. The site is linked to PayPal to process payments which is secure, quick and efficient.
The design conforms to the w3 consortium guidelines for coding, style sheets and accessibility.
The site " Original Watercolour paintings by Terry Culpan " is available at http://www.art-terryculpan.co.uk
NP Records
We were approached by the client to build a web site that would add credibility to their growing business as an independent record label and promoter.
The site contains a flash header and informational text and image boxes that could be added and updated easily by the client. The concept was based around the client's existing presence on myspace.
The site Bristol's
top Independent record label - NP Records is available at

Steve Pillinger Roofing & Carpentry
Under instruction from the client Steve Pillinger Roofing, we have created a website along traditional design concepts. The site is informational and aimed at domestic and commercial customers in the Bristol, Bath and South West.
The site contains some interesting images of their work and recent roofing projects in the South West. To display the images we used the “hoverbox” method displaying a thumbnail, larger image on hover and largest image on click. There are also 2 flash movies in the site. One shows, on the home page, a run through of recently completed work, while the other shows step by step the roofing contractor at work.
The site Specialist roofing contractor for Bristol, Bath & the South West can be seen at http://www.stevepillingerroofing.co.uk

This site was designed and developed for BigWoolwich.com
The brief from the client was to produce a 'state of the art' and minimalist design with limited colour use. The whole design also had to conform with the w3 consortium guidelines for coding, style sheets and accessibility. The content reflects the clients wish to create a blog.
The site is available at http://www.bigwoolwich.com
Web Design First
This web site represents a new venture for us in low cost, affordable design.
For those clients on a limited budget we decided to provide an alternative design service enabling clients the ability to have a web presence, with a number of pages, that they themselves can easily and quickly add to and update using a built in cms. This site provides that alternative with the usual email, statistics and help options we normally provide.
The site is available at http://www.webDesignFirst.co.uk
ictWeb
We undertook this project for ictWeb.org.
The brief was to create an educational website, using css. The client needed to easily add and update the content as and when required. The site had to be accessible, easy to navigate and have a forum where members could ask questions and receive answers as well as discuss issues relating to teaching and learning ICT. The content remains continually under development by the client and the site is available at http://www.ictweb.org
