No benefits for spamming

Are there any?

Every day I look through my emails and there they are. Pharmacies, stocks to follow, bank accounts that I need to validate, ebay, PayPal, diplomats and on and on. They arrive and two clicks later depart unopened, unread and unloved.

I have also begun to enjoy “comment spam” to this blog. These are mostly casinos and, of course, pharmacies attempting to get their links on the blog. Again two clicks and they’re consigned to oblivion, never getting further than awaiting verification.

I suppose there are less diligent websites than mine, where these things get through. Of course there are, I’ve seen them published on some very well known blogs. The comment contains absolute drivel and, of course, the link. The bloggers either don’t know, or don’t care who their site links too and/or the consequences of linking to what has become known as “bad neighbourhoods” by the search engines.
So, they, the spammers, waste my time while I delete it, but for what advantage to the spammer? I don’t click the links, I’m not taken in by their rubbish and I can’t believe that many are.

Ok, a rant, and I feel better, but I can’t help wondering how long it will be before this post is spammed.
